Salient Welcomes Jeff Garwych (ex IBM) as Director of Customer Success
At Salient Predictions, our goal is not only to improve the accuracy and reliability of subseasonal-to-seasonal (S2S) forecasts. It’s to also help our customer base realize the value of those improved forecasts as quickly and efficiently as possible. To assist in achieving those dual goals, Salient has added Jeff Garwych, former Senior Solutions Engineer at IBM’s The Weather Company, as Director of Customer Success.
“We are signing up customers quickly and working hard to ensure that each customer achieves maximum value from our product and has a voice in Salient’s product roadmap,” said Janet Lee, Salient’s Chief Product Officer. “Jeff is an important piece of the process. For Salient, it’s all about making sure that our API and front-end products are a great fit for our customers’ use cases.”
Garwych, who holds a Master of Science in Meteorology from San Jose State University and 15+ years of experience in delivering weather-focused solutions to businesses, is well positioned for his new role as liaison with Salient’s customer base. Based in Colorado, he also expands Salient’s physical footprint across seven time zones. “I was drawn toward Salient’s focus on new science and machine learning techniques in the 2-to-52-week range,” he said. “There is increasing demand for services in this timeframe.”
Coming on the heels of new grant funding, accelerated product delivery that features a new model version, and an expanded partnership with the University of Oklahoma’s world-renowned School of Meteorology, Jeff’s hiring is as timely as a refreshed forecast. He relishes the opportunity. “Based on my experience with the private and public sector landscape of providers,” he said, “I believe Salient is truly innovating on S2S forecasting.”
